Love this article! Thanks for the insight :). I’ve tried surveys and didn’t have a wonderful experience and I sell some things on craigslist but not enough to pay bills. But I just had a baby and my husband if getting ready to start ministry school so I’ve been praying for something and a friend introduced me to an awesome and legitimate work from home job. I LOVE the products and am making decent money and I’ve just started If anyone is interested in joining me, feel free to email me at [email protected] hoo.com.I know you will love the products and the company.
I’m looking for people to join my team with Advocare! It’s a great opportunity to get healthy (especially as the New Year approaches!) and make some additional money! I make a couple hundred dollars extra each month and save on my own orders! I feel so strongly about the program I’m willing to pay people’s start up costs! Email me with “advocare” in the subject line if you’re interested! [email protected]

Note:  There are dozens of other survey sites out there. These just happen to be the more well-known ones that have a reputation for paying out in a timely manner and not having impossible standards for cashing out. As always, be careful with your personal information. I recommend using an entirely separate email address for survey sites so they don’t clutter your inbox.

If you’ve got experience and expertise in a specific area of business, there are hundreds if not thousands of business owners who would love to jump on a phone call and pick your brain. This can be an easy way to make extra money online and to hone your skills to use in your consulting or freelance business. Sites like Clarity.fm let you create a profile where entrepreneurs and business owners can pre-pay to book a phone call with you for a set amount of time. Whether you’re an expert in raising money for startups, building apps, or running a restaurant, you can make extra money selling a few minutes of your time to people in need.
Running a coupons website can be very lucrative. Find a coupon niche, select a WordPress coupon theme, and then display relevant coupons on your site. When your audience uses the coupon codes or discount links, you will earn an affiliate cut for example you could set-up a site dedicated to iHerb Coupons or add a page to your website with Web Hosting Promo Codes. Coupon websites are quite high maintenance as they need to be constantly updated with new offers. However, if you build up an engaged audience and allow them to post coupons and discounts they have found themselves, then quite quickly your workload will reduce.
If you want to clear some space out in your house and have a big stack of books you’ve been holding onto for too long, you can make money selling your books and textbooks online. Stores like Half Priced Books and others will give you cents on the dollar for each of your current books while you can check what your book is worth by simply entering the ISBN number on Book Scouter.
Another strategy to make money online is to become a social marketing manager. Being present on social media is key for any business that wants to attract new customers, promote their products and grow their following. However, constantly posting, liking and commenting on the numerous social media channels is extremely time consuming. More and more businesses are recruiting social media managers to run and organize all their social media. And to save money, social media employees are often employed as online freelancers.
17. Amazon – Have you heard of FBA? It stands for “Fulfilled by Amazon” and it’s getting pretty popular. Basically, you buy products (in bulk is best) and ship them to Amazon for them to store. When your products sell, Amazon packs them up, ships them out and sends you the money (after taking their cut). There are people making a full-time living from FBA, while others just do it for some extra money.
Love your suggestions! I like Superpoints. I’ve been using it about a month now. I have earned $145 in amazon gift certs so far. There’s a “super lucky button” you can push every day for points and you get points for referrals. Granted, I’ve joined a couple book clubs for my new little one, but the surveys are a great way to earn points.. and if you fall into the surveyor’s demographic/psychographic target, they can ask to call you for an “interview” and feedback. Two weeks after I started using the site, one hour of my time, and I got a $100 gift cert to amazon. And it was fun. =) I’m not trying to “plug” myself, but it’s invite only.. http://superpoints.com/refer/angiemshop will get you in. Oh, and my “angiemshop”.. I used to mystery shop.. you get paid to do things that you would do anyways. I moved from a city to a small town so I no longer do it, but I earned quite a bit.

If you have previous experience as a computer programmer, or have skills in this field, then there is plenty of work you can pick up as a freelancer. If lack of confidence is holding you back, then Free Code Camp is an excellent way to get your foot in the coding door. This organization provides free courses where you will build real-life apps and programs, giving you experience and plenty to add to your CV.
Once you have that problem or need nailed, the next step is to validate that idea and make sure you’ve actually got customers who will pay for it. This means building a minimum viable product, getting objective feedback from real customers, incorporating updates, testing the market for demand, and getting pricing feedback to ensure there’s enough of a margin between your costs and what consumers are willing to pay.
If it’s not clear yet, information and expertise are two of the most consistent and lucrative ways to make extra money online. If you don’t like talking on the phone, you can sign up to get paid to answer professional questions on JustAnswer. There are thousands of questions being asked every month from people looking for help from lawyers, doctors, mechanics, vets, and more. To apply, you’ll need to supply your professional verification, resume, and a form of identification.

We all sign up for subscriptions that we eventually don’t want. As I’m sure you have found out, sometimes cancellation isn’t so easy. What I love about Trim is that they will identify these recurring charges in your bank account, let you know what you are being charged for and then give you the option to have them cancel them. They can send an email, make a phone call or even send a certified letter if that’s what the company requires. This service is currently free. Trim can also negotiate things like your cable bill. For that service, they charge you a percentage of your annual savings. Sign up here.
A niche affiliate site often presents like an eCommerce store. To get started with an affiliate site, choose your niche then display products with pictures, descriptions, and prices, just as you would on an online store. However, when visitors click the ‘buy’ button, they will be taken directly to Amazon, to make the purchase. You then make an affiliate fee for sending the traffic to Amazon, but have none of the packaging hassle, or initial financial output creating or buying the products.
2. Survey Sites: Of course you know I’d mention these right? This is one of my favorite ways to earn extra money. Here’s a great system that I use to keep up, and do as many as possible with my really limited time: I set up a folder in my email {or you could set up one separate email address for surveys only}, and every day when I go through my email, I move all of the survey invites into that folder. When I have time, in the evenings or during naps, I go to my folder and start filling out as many surveys as I have time for. You’d be really surprised at how fast the money adds up! Here are my favorite sites that are legit, and I’ve been paid from regularly – {And, see for yourself from another blogger how they get rewards, plus see my checks I’ve gotten.}

You may decide to create free videos as extra content for your blog, and not sell them at all. If this is the case then you can still make money from these videos by selling advertising space on them (in the same way as discussed for monetizing podcasts). Once you have high volumes of traffic visiting your blog, and watching your videos, you can charge businesses to advertise at the beginning of your videos. Use website’s like Izea to help you connect with companies willing to pay to advertise on your blog.
I connected to your blog through Pinterest… I was looking for frugal tips and stuff to save money and started reading your whole blog! I worked when both of mine were small and I so envy all of you ladies who are staying at home and doing everything possible to make ends meet so you can enjoy your precious little ones, whether you planned it or not. I’m sure that you can tell that I am a lot older than most of you, my kids are grown and I only have one at home in junior college. Like so many, this economy hit us hard. I went back to school for a 2 year medical program ( resp therapy) graduated, got my license and credentials but no job. Market over-saturation, my age and just the fact that nobody was hiring due to the economy kept me from finding employment. It has been too long since graduation for me to find a job, the ones out there are going to “recent” grads. After almost having a nervous breakdown and wallowing in pity for a year, I finally decided that I can move on, the Lord has something else in store for me. Until I figure that out, your tips will help me supplement our income and keep our head above water. I can’t tell you how happy I am to hear that so many of you are actually making money or getting points/credits by doing various things. I am going to start this week and see what I can do. Thank you Sunshine and Sippy Cups and all you other wonderful ladies for being so inspirational… if you guys can do it with small kids and infants (while homeschooling, too) then I have no excuse!!
I guess saying I “lied” sounds harsh. But I definitely didn’t tell them about my lack of computer knowledge – I just committed to working harder than anyone else, to make sure I caught up fast. And I don’t regret it at all :) If I hadn’t been able to pass the test – I wouldn’t have gotten the job. So it’s not like I “tricked them” into hiring some crappy employee. I rocked it :)

The market for drones is expanding. Companies hire out work like aerial inspection, photography and land mapping. So if you’re already a drone enthusiast, why not put your aircraft to work? You first need to register it with the Federal Aviation Administration and obtain a license from them for commercial use. Then, you can apply for gigs as a drone pilot. Learn how to start making money with drones.
If you actually enjoy putting together Ikea furniture or standing in long lines, you may be cut out for doing tasks for others. Websites like TaskRabbit can connect you with people who need help with a variety of things. Moving, cleaning, delivery and being a handyman have the “highest earning potential,” according to the company. Read about how to get started on TaskRabbit.
Starting a podcast, like making a YouTube channel or blog, comes down to telling interesting stories and building an engaged audience. I’m probably sounding like a broken record by now, but you need a niche that you’re interested in and there’s already a demand for. Come up with a list of topics you’d like to talk about and then search iTunes charts, Google Trends and other podcast research sites like cast.market to see what’s currently out there and popular.
Shipping. You will only have a few days to ship a book after it sells, and even less time if you agree to include two-day or overnight shipping as part of your options. And since you’ll want to save as much as you can on the shipping, you’ll have to devise a plan. Many people set aside specific days for shipping – say 3 days a week – and then make one big trip to the post office. As long as there isn’t anything else in the package, you can send books via media mail, which is the least expensive option. Finally, your books will need to be packaged in a way that they won’t get damaged in transit.
You can earn above average rates of return because peer-to-peer lending eliminates the bank function. That means that you participate in nearly the entire interest rate being paid by the borrower, rather than the less than 1% that you will typically earn on certificates of deposit. And you can reduce your risk by investing in slices of hundreds of different loans.

Next, you’ll need the right tools. You can be as complicated or simple as you want depending on your comfort with audio equipment, but at the minimum you’ll want a microphone and software for recording your voice. Companies like Behringer, Blue, Focusrite, and others sell studio-quality plug-and-play podcast setups that can get you recording today.
Do you see all of those articles, tutorials and guides all over the Internet? Somebody wrote every one of them! If you have decent writing ability (no, you don’t need a journalism degree!), and knowledge in a few specific topic areas, you can be one of those writers. It’s an opportunity to make money online and without ever leaving your home. It’s also the kind of venture that can start out as a small side business, but grow into a full-time career.
Please note that some of the links below are affiliate links and at no additional cost to you, I will earn a commission. Know that I only recommend products, tools and learning resources I've personally used and believe are genuinely helpful, not because of the small commissions I make if you decide to purchase them. Most of all, I would never advocate for buying something that you can't afford or that you're not yet ready to implement.
